Evening dress c.1909 by Callot Sœurs, from the kyoto costume institute

I actually DREW A DRESS for once (Vera, don’t faint) — it’s a holiday frock from the 1930s, and it is being modeled by a character from my new book of short horror comics, THROUGH THE WOODS, which just came out this week!

Hi, this is Emily, and I know this isn’t a dress, but I thought I would put up a link to this project all the same for folks that might be interested…
I’m part of the new line-up of art books for Benign Kingdom’s Spring 2013 collection! In addition to a lot of pictures of monsters and babes — such as those in the cover image above — my book also includes a number of my images from this here blog. Please check out the Kickstarter campaign, along with the work of the other artists involved (because they are tremendous): Gigi DG, Phil McAndrew, and Tyson Hesse! I should also mention that art books from previous Benign Kingdom collections can be purchased at their fancy new store.
Thanks!
I’ve been watching the excellent BBC show The Hour and if you like vintage fashions, man, point your eyeballs at that one. Kickass producer lady Bel Rowley gets some particularly sharp office-wear.
